Brandon Barcena is a self-taught photographer; based out of Calgary, Canada. He is now enrolled in the Bachelor of Design in Photography, at Alberta University of the Arts to further his creative knowledge and skill set. 

Brandon got into photography through urban exploration; falling in love with the freeing feeling of being able to capture moments, beyond what the average eye is able to witness. Starting off shooting primarily street photos, his style has been constantly evolving over the past 5 years, as he is currently deeply immersed in portrait photography.

Brandon strives to invoke sublime feelings and experiences within the viewer, to feel deeply rooted in his work. His goal is to take his audience on a journey through a viewing path filled with narrative and emotion; giving them the sense that they know the story behind the image, while also allowing their mind to wander with their own interpretations, thus creating an even longer-lasting connection, solidifying his art within them.
